He's a firm believer in three hours being the perfect length for a movie, but thinks a lot of games are much too long. Or he's trying to get you to watch Mad Men. When not talking about The Legend of Zelda, Dark Souls, Mass Effect, or some PlayStation exclusive, he's probably droning on about the works of Cormac McCarthy, Frank Herbert, Stanley Kubrick, and Wes Anderson. A terminal Midwesterner who graduated from the University of Kansas, Kyle also has knowledge and interest in literature, film, film adaptions of literature, and history. His tenure at SR began in late 2020 as a contributing Game Features writer before quickly becoming a Staff Writer, a role that gradually progressed into an Editor position. One of Kyle's earliest memories is of watching his older brother play Ocarina of Time, which probably explains how he ended up as an Editor for Screen Rant's Gaming section.

In addition to BF3 having newer versions of classic BF2 maps, it also has a couple good options to bring strictly urban warfare to Portal, something missing in the first six maps. Seine Crossing would let players fight through the streets of Paris, while Operation Metro would provide a so-called meat grinder map, which seems like a missing ingredient in the chaotic gameplay Portal is sure to deliver. Bad Company 2 maps like Atacama Desert and Port Valdez are enticing options that could also be used for Breakthrough, a game mode that has seemingly replaced Rush. Portal could potentially bring about a resurgence for Rush, a game mode seemingly forgotten by the most recent Battlefield games. 1942 has some maps that are based on iconic WWII battles, such as Omaha Beach, Operation Market Garden, and Iwo Jima. Aside from the exciting prospect of more 1942 maps being updated with destruction, there's a chance to fill the World War II inspired void left by Battlefield V. If 2042's Portal does indeed start its post-launch content with more maps from the three games already included, Battlefield 1942 seems the most poised to deliver compelling maps.
